Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has reaffirmed the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) intention to break an eight-year electoral jinx in the 2024 elections in order to maintain socioeconomic achievements.
That would be contingent on the party’s resolve to accelerate socioeconomic and infrastructure development across the nation, as well as the numerous social intervention programs that have transformed the lives of Ghanaians under President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-administration. Addo’s.
He stated that President Akufo-Addo was adamant about handing over power to the NPP, as seen by his unshakable determination to work diligently at all times to ensure the party’s success in government.
Dr. Bawumia was speaking at the University of Cape Coast’s Central Regional Tertiary Students Confederacy (TESCON) convention.
TESCON members, Members of Parliament (MPs), and party veterans, including Mr John Boadu, National Secretary, and Mrs Marigold Assan, Central Regional Minister, attended the conference, which was themed “Breaking the Eight, the Role of TESCON.”

“Ghanaians will continue to give the NPP the mandate to govern beyond 2024, and we will deliver and break the eight-year electoral tenure in Ghana with our strong foundation,” Vice President Bawumia assured. He also urged the Party’s youth to rededicate themselves to the cause, saying, “Let us see ourselves as collaborators and agents of change.”
