Behind Summer on the Hills are Joey Nasko and Marcus Worthington Lewis, popularly known as Khalifaofaccra (KOA), the founders whose shared vision has turned the event into more than just another entry on Ghana’s entertainment calendar. Together, they are building a lifestyle and party experience centred on great music, authentic connection, relaxed vibes and memorable moments.
Their idea is built on a simple belief, great music and experiences bring people together. Rather than creating a conventional concert where the attention rests solely on the stage, Nasko and Khalifaofaccra have developed Summer on the Hills as a complete social experience, combining music with games, food, vendors, photo opportunities, brand activations, fashion and spaces where people can simply relax and connect.
That vision was on display at the 2026 edition, which took place on 23 August at Underbridge Annex in East Legon. Beginning at 4pm, the event was designed to move from a calm daytime atmosphere into a vibrant night-time party, giving patrons an experience that extended well beyond the headline performance.
At the centre of the 2026 experience was Nigerian music star Seyi Vibez, whose appearance gave the event a strong international dimension. The Nigerian street-pop star has built a considerable following across Africa with his distinctive blend of Afrobeats, Fuji influences and Yoruba lyricism, making him a fitting headline act for an event seeking to connect audiences through contemporary African music.
Seyi Vibez was supported by a line-up of Ghanaian DJs including DJ Millzy, DJ Vigos, DJ Miliki, DJ Wallpaper, DJ Bryant, DJ Speech, DJ KBrown and DJ Freak. MCs Ben Arthur, MC El Chapo, MC Kayblack, MC Trapper and MC Jerome also contributed to the atmosphere throughout the event.
For the founders, however, the headline artiste is only one part of the equation. Summer on the Hills was deliberately structured to give patrons multiple reasons to stay engaged throughout the day. Games, food vendors, cabana spaces, photo areas and brand activations formed part of the experience before the venue transitioned into a club-style setting at night.
Hennessy was among the brands involved through an activation, while the vendor section created an opportunity for businesses to interact directly with patrons and make sales. Guests were also encouraged to embrace smart and stylish summer wear, adding a fashion and lifestyle element to the event.
The organisers placed emphasis on creating a secure and comfortable environment, with B3 Security working alongside the Ghana Police Service and military personnel. Underbridge Annex provided a spacious, air-conditioned venue capable of accommodating the different aspects of the experience.
The journey to the 2026 edition followed the 2025 event, which was headlined by Ghanaian rapper Kweku Smoke. The move to Seyi Vibez in 2026 broadened the event’s African appeal while maintaining its core focus on bringing people together through music and entertainment.
The next chapter is already taking shape. The presale of tickets for the 2027 edition of Summer on the Hills is scheduled for next month, signalling the organisers’ intention to build on the momentum of the 2026 experience and keep the event growing.
As Summer on the Hills looks towards 2027, its story remains closely tied to the two people behind the concept. Through their vision, Joey Nasko and Marcus Worthington Lewis are steadily transforming an idea centred on music and summer vibes into a recognisable lifestyle and entertainment experience one designed not just for people to attend, but for them to remember.
