17year old JHS Graduate, Prince Tawiah From Breman Kuntanase Wins AOB Easter Marathon 2022

Young Ghanaian fast-rising Athlete, Prince Tawiah has emerged as the overall champion at the maiden edition of the Asikuma Odoben Brakwa Easter Marathon.

The 17year old Junior High School graduate from the Breman Kuntanase in the Asikuma Odoben Brakwa District of Central Region is a former student of the Breman Kuntanase Salvation Army Basic & JHS.

The winner of the Marathon race, Prince Tawiah completed the 16Kilometer distance from Breman Fosuansa to Breman Asikuma Roundabout within 44Minutes, 46 Seconds.

The maiden edition of the Asikuma Odoben Brakwa Easter Marathon had about 70 Athletes participating in the race.

Out of the 70 participants, Prince Tawiah from Breman Kuntanase won the ultimate prize and took home a cash of GHC 500, a silver medal and a certificate.

Emmanuel Okyere – 1st Runner Up

Emmanuel Okyere from Breman Brakwa who happens to be an old student of Odoben SHS completed the 16Kilometer distance within 45minutes, 33 seconds and emerged as the 1st Runner up securing the second position with a cash prize of GHC 350, a silver medal and a certificate.

Ishmael Tawiah – 2nd Runner Up

Ishmael Tawiah, a 21 year old man from Breman Brakwa took 2nd Runner Up or the third position and won a cash prize of GHC 250, a medal and a certificate.

Magdalene Akotia – 4th Position 

Magdalene Akotia from Breman Kuntanase and a student of Breman Asikuma Senior High School who secured the 1st position in the women division and placed Fourth in the overall marathon after completing the 16 kilometer distance within 46minutes, 17seconds. She took home a cash prize of GHC 150, a silver medal and a certificate.

Godfred Aseidu – 5th Position 

19year old fast-rising athlete from Breman Asikuma, Godfred Asiedu placed fifth in the race after completing the 16Kilometer distance within 46minutes, 56seconds. He also took home a cash prize of GHC100, a silver medal and a certificate.

All the remaining 65 participants having completed the 16Kilometer marathon race took home a certificate of achievement.

The Easter Marathon is one of Hon. Emmanuel Adjei Domson’s Sporting Initiatives which seek to unearth talented Athletes to represent the district at the regional level, National and the Olympics.

Another motive of the Marathon is to foster unity among constituents and also project the District positively for national attention.

The maiden edition of the AOB Easter Marathon event was proudly sponsored by Hon. Emmanuel Adjei Domson, 2020 NPP Parliamentary candidate.

The event had other benevolent support from Mrs Winifred Abaidoo-Ayin, Mr. Francis Benyin, Mr. Yaw Danso N & K Beverages, Nkunim Pharmacy, the Police Service and the Ghana Ambulance Service.
