Last night, the Health Minister,  Kwaku Agyemang Manu disclosed in a press conference that, the Noguchi memorial institute had confirmed two cases of the Coronavirus in Ghana.

The minister then gave out preventive measures that Ghanaians must practice daily in order to help prevent the global pandemic.

Earlier today, an old video recorded a month ago which had the CEO of Korle Bu Teaching Dr Daniel Asare in an interview with Citi Tv went viral on various social media platforms of which people were misled that the two confirmed COVID-19 cases has tested negative.

Although the video was responding to the first two suspected Coronavirus victims who texted negative at the Noguchi Memorial Institute a month ago.

Authorities of the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital this afternoon took to their official Facebook page to issue an official communique reacting to the fake news circulating by some online media portals.

On their Facebook timeline, this is what they wrote:

Communique by Korle Bu Teaching Hospital

FAKE NEWS- Covid-19

It has come to the attention of the Hospital’s authorities about a video circulating on social media of our CEO, Dr Daniel Asare saying the two confirmed Covid-19 cases have tested negative.

The said video is fake, false and unrelated to the two confirmed cases announced by the Minister of Health.

The video was recorded over a month ago when the Hospital had two suspected cases whose results proved negative. The two patients were discharged home the next day.
