Ghana’s biggest music stars took London by storm with a sold-out event! Medikal, also known as Samuel Adu Frimpong, headlined the show at the O2’s Indigo Arena on Friday night. The crowd, including many Ghanaians, were thrilled to witness the incredible talent from their country. Even footballer Mohammed Kudus from the Black Stars and West Ham in the Premier League attended the concert and gifted dancehall king Shatta Wale with a West Ham shirt.
Medikal hosted the musical extravaganza, rocking different outfits and introducing each act on stage. He also performed some of his biggest hits in between. One of the highlights was his collaboration with Ghanaian singer Sister Derby, who also happens to be his ex-girlfriend. Together, they performed their 2017 hit “Too Risky,” which they recorded during their relationship.

The event also featured special guests like British-Ghanaian chart-topper Headie One, BET award winner Sarkodie, and highlife musician Bisa Kdei. Efya’s incredible vocal abilities even had audience members throwing money on stage to show their appreciation, a common tradition at Afrobeats events.
Before Shatta Wale’s performance, Medikal, who is 31 years old, paid tribute to his friend by sharing stories of how Shatta Wale mentored him and supported him financially and with cars at the start of his career. The 39-year-old dancehall legend then took the stage and performed a medley of songs, including his 2022 hit “On God,” which is probably one of his biggest hits.
