Full List of Winners for Central Music Awards 2023

The 12th edition of the Central Music Awards was held successfully on Saturday, 25th November, 2023 at the Center for National Culture in Cape Coast.

Winners for this year’s Central Music Awards were announced in grand style coupled with thrilling and electrifying performances from Koby Symple, Takum, Kwesi Tadi, Is Hommie, Essi, Minab, Emogy, Docta Flow, Empress Christy, Brother Ishmael, Jay Baba, Idi Kawawa, EK Nacosty, Marhany, Raggay Bee, Akwesi Xelout, You Know, Samaru and an authentic live band session from the Emintsimadze Band.


The 12th Central Music Awards had Asiedua and Kris Aggrey as the official MCs with DJ Kobby, DJ Mickay and DJ Pizil as the official DJs for the event night.

The Central Music’s biggest night saw in attendance top Government officials, Traditional Rulers, Corporate Business Executives, Media Personalities, Executives from MUSIGA Central Region, Nominees and Music lovers.

The 2022/2023 music year brought out a lot of amazing music talents across the 22 districts in the central region. Within the year under review, 35 official award categories were unveiled with nominees from respective districts.

The Artiste of the year category featured; Koby Symple, Takum, Docta Flow, 2Feet, Khofy Guyson, Sobologeng and Smelling Good Geng.


Koby Symple was crowned as the Artiste of the year for the Central Music Awards 2023.

Special honorary awards were also presented to Nana Ekua Apeatsewah II, former Central Regional MUSIGA Chairperson, Hon. Francis Ejaku Donkoh, CEO of FED Kastle Multimedia and Chairman Kweku Etuaful, the CEO of Fays Lounge for their immense contribution towards the growth and development of the Music Industry in the central region.

Candyman Lucas Mensah to Sponsor Central Music Awards’ New Artiste of the Year Category with GH¢5,000

Renowned Ghanaian media personality and Founder of the Central Music Awards (CMA), Mr. Candyman Lucas Mensah, has pledged GH¢5,000 in sponsorship for the New Artiste of the Year category at the 15th Central Music Awards.

Mr. Mensah made the announcement during the 15th CMA Seminar held on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at the Samrit Hotel in Cape Coast ahead of the 15th Anniversary Celebration of the prestigious Central Music Awards.

Speaking on the topic, “From an Idea to a Movement: The CMA Journey at 15,” Mr. Mensah reflected on the experiences that led to the establishment of the Central Music Awards, highlighting the challenges, achievements and lessons from the awards’ 15-year journey.

He also outlined his vision for the continued growth of the awards scheme, particularly its role in identifying, nurturing and promoting emerging musical talents from the Central Region to compete at higher levels.

Announcing the sponsorship, Mr. Mensah said his contribution was driven by his commitment to supporting emerging artistes and creating opportunities for young talents within the region.

The sponsorship will support the New Artiste of the Year category as part of activities marking the 15th anniversary of the Central Music Awards.

The seminar, held under the theme “Celebrating the Journey, Taking Stock, Building Tomorrow,”brought together musicians, artiste managers, media personalities, bloggers, content creators, event organisers and other key stakeholders in the creative industry from across the Central Region’s 22 districts.

The programme featured presentations by creative industry professionals and academics, including Dr. Margaret Delali Numekevor, Lecturer at the Department of Music and Dance, University of Cape Coast, and Nana Ekua Apeatsewah II, former Chairperson of the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA), Central Region.

The seminar was moderated by Mr. Bismark Botchwey, Deputy Communications Executive at Heritage Promotions.

The annual CMA seminar provides a platform for creatives to gain knowledge and practical insights into developing their craft, strengthening their brands, building professional networks and promoting their work to meet international standards.
