Senegal Beats Egypt On Penalty Kick To Win First AFCON Title
Senegal has claimed their first ever Africa Cup of Nations title with a 4-2 penalty shootout victory over seven-time AFCON winners Egypt in the 33rd edition of the African Cup Of Nation hosted in Yaounde, Cameroon on Sunday.
Liverpool forward, Sadio Mane missed a penalty kick in the first half of the tournament but converted the decisive penalty shout-out to send senegal through to win their first ever AFCON Trophy.
Head coach Aliou Cissé becomes the first manager to lead Senegal to clinched AFCON Title.
Chelsea goalkeeper Edward Mendy named the best goal keeper of the tournament.
Host Nation Cameroon skipper Aboubakar emerged as the top scorer with 8goals winning the golden boot and also helping his country to place third.
Sadio Mane was awarded the star man of the tournament winning the over all player of the tournament.
