Former DCE Honourable Adjei Domson To Contest AOB-NPP Parliamentary Primaries, Outlines Achievements & Reasons Why He Deserves The Mandate.

Former DCE For the good people of Asikuma Odoben Brakwa District, Hon. Adjei Domson has officially declared his Intentions to Contest in the forthcoming NPP Parliamentary Primaries. The former DCE who worked under Hon. P.C Appiah Ofori outlined some tangible reasons why delegates must give him the mandate.

In a worth reading article, he wrote;

I’m picking my form to contest for the 25th April primaries with so much joy in my heart and a firm belief that my humble district can do far better than we have seen in the last ten years, as a little boy in Ahmadiyya primary school in the 80s I was impressed with the work of Kwasi Oppong as secretary of PNDC especially his road expansion projects popularly known then as Oppong roads and  I was happy when I met him as DCE in 2006 and promised him , that, we were also going to put ink to the roads before 2008 which with the Mp at the time we did.

I had few friends from Brakwa who complained to me about how Brakwa was neglected in terms of senior high education facility then and I promised them one before the end of 2008, which became a reality through my leadership in 2007.

Having seen more accidents at police junction at Asikuma on market days , I decided to install the traffic lights to bring some decency and normalcy to the place and I did it within two months of taking the decision. Dumping of refuse in the center of town at Asikuma was quite an embarrassing sight , with doubts from some people who thought it was mission impossible, I handled it with Midas touch , I built more schools than any one before me and after me and broke grounds for new works in previously unschooled communities in the district like boame Nkwanta with teachers quarters, Asabiem with teachers quarters, amanbetse with same infrastructure.

In international politics and relation I brought more influential people to visit the district from America, USAID, world bank , UN and several ministers of state to our district than anyone. Supported more than four hundred young ones to access  teacher training colleges.

When I see a leader who can perform I don’t struggle to see , and when I see one with no ideas to resuscitate the fortunes of the people too I see with ease. Our progress is a function of our leadership. AOB deserves new direction , creative leadership and that’s why I’m putting myself up as the most credible candidate to lead our great party and ultimately our great district the lord being my helper.

Signed:

Honourable Adjei Domson

Leadership Alone is Not Enough – Justice Barima Nana Yaw Kodie Oppong Urges Graduates to Embrace Integrity, Innovation, and Change

Justice Barima Nana Yaw Kodie Oppong has delivered a rousing call to action to the graduating class of Accra Metropolitan University, urging them to go beyond leadership and become agents of change through integrity, innovation, and responsible use of technology.

Speaking as the keynote guest at the university’s graduation ceremony, Justice
Barima Nana Yaw Kodie Oppong challenged the students not to merely seek titles or positions of power, but to become problem solvers in their communities. “Leadership alone is not enough,” he stressed. “The world is looking for people who embrace integrity, who innovate, and who are not afraid of change.”

He encouraged graduates to be fearless in facing the pressing issues around them. “Do not run away from problems,” he said. “Be the generation that solves them. Ghana and the world need change-makers, not spectators.”

Justice Barima Nana Yaw Kodie Oppong also spoke passionately about values that protect and sustain the environment, citing the destructive impact of illegal mining, commonly referred to as galamsey. “We are witnessing the devastation of our rivers, lands, and future due to greed and disregard for the law. As graduates, your values must align with protecting, not plundering, our environment.”

A strong advocate for the ethical use of technology, he warned the audience about the rising cases of mobile money (MoMo) fraud and the dangers of deepfake technology, an increasingly troubling development made possible by Artificial Intelligence. “Technology must be used to uplift society, not deceive it,” he cautioned. “As educated individuals, you must lead by example. Never use your knowledge for dishonest or illegal means.”

Justice Barima Nana Yaw Kodie Oppong’s address also included a stirring appeal to the graduates to be innovators. “Innovation is not just for tech entrepreneurs,” he said. “Whatever field you are entering, look for new and better ways to improve lives.”

The graduation ceremony also honoured notable national figures, including Inspector General of Police (IGP) Christian Tetteh Yohuno, who received an honorary Doctor of Law degree, and Ing. Patricia Obo-Nai, who was awarded a Doctor of Science degree for her contributions to engineering and telecommunications.

The event marked a significant milestone in the lives of the graduates, but also served as a clarion call to carry their education into the real world with purpose, responsibility, and a spirit of transformation.
