Akufo-Addo is very insensitive, he’ll be spending GHS4.9 million on another private jet charter – NDC

The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has bemoaned the abuse of state funds by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government.

According to the NDC, despite the economic challenges the country is facing; the President is making international travels in luxurious private jets.

Speaking to press in Parliament, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Member of Parliament for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa said the President’s current 10-day trip will cost the state GHS4.9 million.

“The President took off in the ultra luxurious LXDIO which costs the Ghanaian tax payer $14,000 per hour. This six nation tour we have done a conservative estimate and at the end of the tour the president would have spent a colossal amount of $777,000.”

“We have called this engagement to register our revulsion, our very strong opposition for the President’s continuous contemptuous and insensitivity conduct in chartering an ultra-luxurious executive jet when Ghana has a presidential jet which is in pristine condition.

“The shocking irony is that this latest conduct of the President happened at a time only yesterday when thousands of Ghanaians were in the street demonstrating against the regressive, the obnoxious and dreaded E-levy. Many Ghanaians are saying that this is a government that does not like to be accountable,” he disclosed.

The President is on a 10-day trip and his first point of call will be Brest, France, where, at the invitation of Emmanuel Macron, President of the French Republic, he will participate in the One Ocean Summit, to be held on Friday, February 11, 2022.

Up to 40 world leaders are due to make “ambitious and concrete commitments” towards combating illegal fishing, decarbonising shipping and reducing plastic pollution at what is billed as the first high-level summit dedicated to the ocean.

Thereafter, he will, at the invitation of Dr. Mohamed Irfan Ali, President of the Cooperative Republic of Guyana, travel to Georgetown, Guyana, participate as a keynote speaker at the maiden International Energy Conference and Expo by Guyana to be held from 15th to 18th February, 2022. Ghana and Guyana are developing close working relations in the oil and gas sector.

The hardworking youth organizer and Board Chairman of the National Food Buffer Stock Company (NAFCO) on Monday, May 9, 2022 took to his official Facebook page to announce his commencement of campaign as the next National Organizer for NPP.

In his official communique, Nana B outlined ten  (10) convincing strategic organizational plan that seek to strengthen the mobilization process of party faithfuls in helping break the eight (8) resoundingly.

On his official Facebook page, this is what Nana B wrote;

For Immediate Release

At the outset, I would want to congratulate all party faithfuls who have be elected to various positions at the polling station, electoral area and constituency levels and wish unsuccessful aspirants better luck next time. I encourage all stakeholders to bury their differences and in unison, work assiduously to strengthen the party at the base to consolidate our electoral gains.

It’s almost 4 years since the noble NPP delegates gave me the mandate to serve the youth in Koforidua. Collectively, we have made giant strides in building a much vibrant youth wing that is results-driven as evident in the youth led emphatic Presidential elections victory chalked in 2020. I wholeheartedly express my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who contributed to this great legacy.

In July this year, the party will, once again, go to Conference to elect National Officers to lead the party for the next 4 years. Respectfully, I’m putting myself up to be elected as National Organizer of our party when the time is due. I have made this informed decision, premised on the enormous experience and relevant skills set I have acquired coupled with proven track record whiles rising through the ranks – from Polling Station, TESCON, Constituency, Region to my current position as National Youth Organizer.

Consequently, I would commence my nationwide campaign tour this week in Ashanti Region where I will meet newly elected and appointed Constituency Officers to put forth my vision and set of objectives as I seek to be the next National Organizer of NPP.

Let me hasten to add that my campaign would be totally clean and decorous devoid of insults or disrespect or personal attacks whatsoever. I have great confidence in my track record and I’m fully convinced that my message crafted around a 10 Point Strategic Plan, outlined below, under the theme *”Strategic Organisation for NPP’s Sustained growth & success”* will resonate with delegates and the rank and file:

1. Developing an all inclusive & Participatory activity Master Plan

2. Operation Recapture Lost Seat

3. Strategic communication built on solid organisation & training

4 Resource & Logistic Mobilisation

5. A Stronger Volunteer/identifiable group Management System

6 Continuous training and capacity Building Programme

7. Special Wings (Youth, Women & Nasara ) Outreach Programmes

8. Strengthening the Party’s Membership Drive Efforts

9. Digitization (Operational & organisational feedback system)

10. Strengthening Diaspora Party Activities and Programmes

In conclusion, I bring to the table rich and trusted experience in organization and leadership, and with a clear proven performance the organizational arm of the NPP under my watch will help deliver victory to our party people in 2024.

Thank you.
