The New Patriotic Party (NPP) newly elected Women’s Organizer in the Cape Coast North Constituency, Eunice Aba Sackey has shockingly and surprisingly defeated the incumbent, Heroine Bart-Plange popularly called Nana Amissah.

Eunice Aba Sackey – Women’s Organizer- Cape Coast North

Eunice Aba Sackey made history in the Cape Coast North Constituency by polling 418 votes while her predecessor, Nana Amissah polling 202 votes, which resulted in a 216 vote difference. This according to records is the highest votes ever gunned by any candidates in the voting history of the Cape Coast North Constituency.

Speaking to Madam Eunice Aba Sackey after the swearing-in of the newly elected candidates, she stated “ I am deeply moved by the expression of confidence from the entire NPP delegates in the Cape Coast North and I thank you from the bottom of my heart. I am immensely grateful to God, my family, my team, friends, and loyal supporters who so generously contributed their time and effort to our campaign during this very long election season.”

Nana Amissah prior to the elections was seen by some party gurus including former 1st Vice Central Regional Chairman, Horace Ekow Ewusi as hard to break, but apparently, Eunice Aba Sackey gained the highest votes amongst all the aspirants.

In the Central Region, Cape Coast North Constituency was one of the fiercely contested NPP elections for especially the Chairmanship, Secretary, and Women’s Organizer positions.

In a year defined by increasing social needs and widening inequalities across the country, one man’s quiet commitment to compassion-driven leadership has stood out.

Mr. Rockson Arthur, CEO, Ote Dollar Foundation

Mr. Rockson Arthur, Executive Director of the Ote Dollar Foundation, has been honoured as the Heritage Personality of the Year at the 14th Central Music Awards, held on Friday, 29 November 2025, at the Centre for National Culture in Cape Coast.

The honour, presented by Heritage Promotions, celebrates individuals whose work in the year under review has significantly strengthened communities, empowered vulnerable groups, advanced development through meaningful partnerships, and demonstrated exemplary service to society.

Heritage Promotions describes Mr. Arthur’s leadership as “𝐚𝐦𝐨𝐝𝐞𝐥 𝐨𝐟 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐯𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲-𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧.” Under his direction, the Ote Dollar Foundation has steadily grown into one of Ghana’s most trusted and impactful forces for social transformation, driven not by publicity, but by a persistent belief in dignity, inclusion, and shared responsibility.

Throughout 2025, the Foundation delivered programmes that touched countless lives across Ghana’s Central Region, focusing on education, health, and community welfare. Mr. Arthur’s leadership has been widely acknowledged for its sincerity, consistency, and grounded approach to solving real problems faced by ordinary people.

One of the Foundation’s earliest interventions in the year took place on 5th March 2025, when the team visited Aboom School for Special Needs in Cape Coast. They provided essential educational materials and personal care items to the learners, a gesture that went beyond charity.

For teachers, caregivers, and families, the visit reaffirmed the organization’s deep commitment to inclusion and to recognizing the potential and dignity of every child, regardless of disability. It was a moment that reflected Mr. Arthur’s belief that when diversity is nurtured with respect and practical support, communities become stronger and more hopeful.

In September, during the Oguaa Fetu Afahye celebrations (3–5 September 2025), the Ote Dollar Foundation intensified its health-focused agenda by partnering with the Adisadel Urban Health Center. Together, they delivered free, comprehensive health screenings to community members.

The services included Hb tests, malaria screening, mental health counselling, nutrition guidance, and family planning support. They were designed to reach those who often lack access to quality healthcare, especially the elderly and financially vulnerable.

The initiative aligned strongly with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 17, emphasizing the power of partnerships in advancing community well-being. Health practitioners later noted that the programme helped strengthen local systems and ease pressure on health facilities during the festive season.

Later that same month, the Foundation extended its impact to the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital Delivery Suite, where it donated essential maternal delivery and postnatal care items. At a time when many new mothers struggle to cover basic childbirth costs, the support offered immediate relief and reduced financial pressure on families.

Healthcare workers praised the gesture for helping them deliver safer and more dignified maternal care. The initiative was also a direct contribution to Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 3, which promotes good health and well-being for all.

This intervention reinforced the Foundation’s commitment not only to health but to protecting women and children at critical moments when support matters most.

These initiatives, grounded in humanity, intentional leadership, and practical impact, formed the basis for Mr. Arthur’s recognition as the Heritage Personality of the Year.

As the applause settled in the auditorium that evening, it was clear that Mr. Arthur’s honour represented far more than an award. It was a tribute to lives touched, communities supported, and futures strengthened through his vision and compassion.
