AOB NPP HOSTS THIRD EDITION OF END OF YEAR DELEGATES MEETING

On Friday, 27th December, 2019, Constituency officers of the New Patriotic Party in the Asikuma Odoben Brakwa District held it’s  third end of year delegates meeting at Breman Asikuma, the district’s capital.

The end of year meeting which was aimed at fostering a united front for Election 2020 saw to the attendance of Hon. Anthony Effah, the Member of Parliament for the constituency, the District Chief Executive, Hon. Isaac Odoom, some Constituency Officers, Council of Elder’s and Patrons, Electoral Area Coordinators, as well as Polling Station Executives.

The third edition of the annual end of year delegates meeting recorded a massive turnout which could be estimated to be over 600 delegates.
The Asikuma Odoben Brakwa District could boast of about 664 delegates of which 605 are polling station executives, with 32 Electoral Area Coordinators, 10 Council of elders and patrons together with 17 Constituency Officers.

The third edition was Coordinated by the constituency organizer Hon. Ebenezer Appiah Apraku and his deputy Hon. Edward Quansah.

NASARA Coordinator, Hon. Ibrahim Fuseni who doubles as NADMO Coordinator for the good people of Asikuma Odoben Brakwa District, delivered an emotional speech where he shared his opinion about the state of internal factions within the party and preached for a united front.

The NADMO Coordinator advised the entire delegates never to underestimate the NDC Parliamentary Candidate, Hon. Alhaji Kobina Ghansah but must work hard and achieve victory come 2020 in both the presidential and parliamentary elections for NPP.

Head of the Council of Elders and patrons of the New Patriotic Party in the district also advised delegates to continue working hard and retain power come 2020.
He also laid emphasis on the need for a united front for the party. He pleaded to all executives to come together and work as a team to help retain power.

Hon. Isaac Odoom – DCE – AOB

The District Chief Executive, Hon. Isaac Odoom first commended delegates for their massive turnout for the meeting. He then briefed delegates on some of the major achievements of the district assembly in his three 3 year tenure in office.

The DCE highlighted some major Classroom blocks, Water and electrification projects, Traffic lights, Scholarships, contributions made to young startup entrepreneurs as well as the renovation of market centers within the district.

He further assured all delegates who haven’t seen couple of developments within their communities to remain calm as strategic development plans are ready to be implemented for every community in the district to benefit.

On the state of bad roads within the district, Hon. Odoom again assured delegates that Asikuma Odoben Brakwa District will see a facelift in it’s roads come 2020 as the president has confirmed that 2020 will be the year of roads.

He boldly assured delegates that Asikuma to Awiam as well as Odoben to Asikuma and Nankese roads will be fixed by the end of 2020.
He commended the MP and the district’s effort in the reconstruction of Ochisoa and Kuntenase Bridges.

The DCE then used the platform to Introduce the 16 newly elected Assembly Members from the 16 Electoral areas won by their representatives to the delegates.
He added his voice to the need of making the district assembly elections partisan by admitting in reality the assembly member election is partisan and that’s why the president proposed that they legalize it.

Honourable Anthony Effah – MP

The member of parliament for the good people of Asikuma Odoben Brakwa Constituency Hon. Anthony Effah as part of his Christmas Message to delegates solicited for the support of all delegates come April 2020 Parliamentary Candidates Elections.

In his speech he said, delegates have stood behind him since 2009 when in opposition and it is not now in power that delegates should vote him out for a different candidate.

The MP assured delegates of more developmental projects come 2020 and pleaded with delegates to give him all the needed support so that he can retain the seat for the constituency.
He wished all delegates a merry Christmas and a prosperous new year.

The end of year delegates meeting didn’t only end with messages but delegates dined and took home assorted drinks, cash and a piece of cloth as their Christmas presents.

In a remarkable and memorable ceremony held at the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), the Founder of Accra Metropolitan University, Prof. Joshua Alabi, was conferred with an Honorary Doctorate Degree in recognition of his outstanding contributions to higher education, transformational leadership, and national development.

He shared profound words that resonated deeply with the audience:
“Vision must meet integrity; hard work must meet teamwork.”
According to him, these guiding principles shaped the culture, strategy, and achievements of UPSA during his tenure and continue to serve as pillars for sustainable growth in any institution.

Prof. Alabi also expressed gratitude to the governing council, faculty, alumni, and students whose collective efforts fueled the university’s historic rise. He further dedicated the honor to all educational leaders committed to innovation, ethical leadership, and youth development.

As Founder of Accra Metropolitan University, Prof. Alabi’s recognition at UPSA serves not only as a personal achievement but also as a national acknowledgment of his decades-long commitment to quality education, good governance, and transformational leadership in Ghana and across Africa.
