We Are Not Paying Celebrities For COVID-19 Campaigns – Information Minister Clarifies

The Minister of Information, Honourable Kojo Oppong Nkrumah has clarified that, the Government of Ghana is not paying any celebrity to campaign and educate Ghanaians on the outbreak of COVID-19 in Ghana.
The Information Minister has finally responded to fake reportage circulating on various new portals that Government is paying huge sums of money to Ghanaian Celebrities to campaign and educate Ghanaians on COVID-19.
The Minister made this revelation today at the Ministry of Information in Accra in a press briefing on the update of Coronavirus cases in the country.
During the press conference, he stated emphatically that, Government and the ministry of information will rather engage celebrities and influencers with huge following to help educate and share accurate information on COVID-19.
The minister confirmed that Ghana’s COVID-19 cases remains 7 since the health sector is being proactive on ensuring that patients tested positive recover soon.
He therefore advised Ghanaians to stay safe and keep practicing the safety precautions.
