Sunyani Youth Hits Street to Demonstrate against their Lack of Development

Earlier today on the 10th December, 2021 the good people of Bono took to the Streets to draw the attention of the government to some road networks in the Bono Regional capital city and it’s surrounding communities to help movement of people and goods to and from as well as to curb frequent road carnage in the region.

Nana Akua Pomaah, Sunyani Konti Akomehemaa joined the aggrieved youth in the Sunyani to protest what they say slow pace of development in the area and presented a petition to the Government through the Bono Regional House of Chiefs.

The protesters quizzed about why Bono is lagging behind development and matched through the principal streets of the city.

According to the President of Sunyani Youth Development Association, Atta Akoto Senior, some regions are getting their share of the national cake but Sunyani still lagging behind in terms of development .

“We have seen the commencement of the 29 kilometer Syno Hydro project going on in the region, we plead that you monitor closely for us because most projects that starts in Sunyani stall midway without completion”, the leader of youth group admonished the media to keep following development in the place.

“In the 2021 budget, provision was made for the Sunyani and Kumasi inner roads but whist that of Kumasi is almost completion, that of Sunyani is moving at a slow pace after two years” , they claimed.

Vice president of the Bone Regional House of Chiefs, Okokyeredom Sakyt Ako II received the petition and ruled out any political party interest as he assured to carry the concerns of the people to the central government.
