The launch which took place at the De Iconic Events Centre in East Legon on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, was attended by dignitaries and stakeholders from the entertainment industry, including Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, the Vice President and Flagbearer of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP); Mr. Andrew Egyapa Mercer, the Minister for Tourism, Creative Arts, and Culture; Bessa Simons, the President of MUSIGA; and Mr Akwesi Agyeman, the CEO of the Ghana Tourism Authority. Other notable attendees included rapper E.L, Zapp Mallet, Samini, Fred Kyei Mensah, and Kaywa.

Speaking as the special guest of honour, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia indicated,” This is a historic moment for Ghana…to have our own music streaming app..it is my distinct honour and pleasure to formally launch GMX, Ghana’s locally made streaming app”.
