Yesterday, July 26, 2024, Stonebwoy, the renowned Ghanaian musician, graduated from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) with a Second-Class Upper degree in Public Administration.

The news sparked a flurry of congratulatory messages from his fans, known as the Bhim Nation, who flooded the internet with well-wishes.

However, not everyone was pleased with Stonebwoy’s achievement. Some netizens, including bloggers and social media influencers like Bongo Ideas and Gideon Ofori, cast doubt on the credibility of his certificate, alleging that it was purchased.

These claims sparked controversy and prompted a response from Jimmy Kutin, Branch Manager of Asaase Radio 100.3 Cape Coast and a lecturer at GIMPA-Takoradi Campus.

On his official Facebook page, Kutin wrote: “You cannot buy a GIMPA certificate. It is simply not possible. I know because I have taught at GIMPA for 11 years and graduated students since 2016. Please, stop the nonsense.”

Kutin’s statement aimed to quell the rumors and reaffirm the integrity of GIMPA’s certification process. Stonebwoy’s achievement is a testament to his hard work and dedication to his education, and he joins a list of distinguished colleague artistes like Samini, Edem, Okyeame Kwame, and Becca who have secured degrees while pursuing their music careers.
