Bright Mumuni Commends President John Dramani Mahama for Assenting to the 24-Hour Authority Bill

President John Dramani Mahama has officially appended his signature to the 24-Hour Economy Authority Bill, marking a significant milestone in Ghana’s economic transformation agenda. The assent moves the policy from political promise to legal reality, setting the stage for implementation of one of the most ambitious economic restructuring strategies in recent years.

Bright Mumuni has commended the President for what he describes as a bold and forward-thinking decision that reflects leadership focused on long-term national growth. According to him, the 24-hour economy is not merely a campaign idea fulfilled, but a strategic intervention aimed at tackling unemployment and strengthening productivity across key sectors of the economy.

Bright Mumuni emphasized that unemployment remains one of Ghana’s most pressing challenges, particularly among the youth. He noted that joblessness goes beyond financial hardship and can evolve into a national security concern if left unaddressed. In his view, expanding economic activity through structured shift systems will open doors for more employment opportunities while reducing social and economic pressures on young people.

He further stated that the true success of the 24-hour economy will depend largely on private sector participation. While government has created the legal and policy framework, it is businesses that must drive expansion, create jobs, and sustain productivity. He urged Ghanaian companies, manufacturers, financial institutions, and service providers to see the policy as an opportunity for growth rather than an obligation.

Bright Mumuni also highlighted the importance of competitive incentives to attract both local and foreign investors. He explained that clarity in tax structures, energy reliability, infrastructure development, and security assurances will determine how effectively businesses embrace round-the-clock operations. Investor confidence, he noted, is built on consistency and practical implementation.

According to him, infrastructure remains central to the policy’s success. Reliable electricity supply, improved transportation systems, digital connectivity, and enhanced security must complement the new framework. Without these foundational elements, a 24-hour system would struggle to achieve its intended impact.

Abdul Rauf Mumuni Abugri Rises from Rural Beginnings to Build a Pan African Business Empire

Published

on

Abdul Rauf Mumuni Abugri stands as one of the most compelling examples of modern African leadership where resilience, intellect, and ambition converge to shape a transformative vision for the continent. From humble beginnings in rural Ghana to leading a multinational business empire, his journey reflects not only personal determination but also a deep commitment to social impact and economic empowerment.

Born in Dadieso Akwasikrom in Ghana’s Western North Region, Rauf’s early life was defined by hardship and discipline. Raised in a cocoa-farming environment and later relocating to Amadum Adankwame in the Ashanti Region, he experienced firsthand the challenges of poverty, limited infrastructure, and instability. Living in a community without electricity, he balanced academic pursuits with the demanding role of a shepherd, tending livestock before and after school. These formative years were not obstacles but rather the foundation of what he now describes as his “Shepherd’s Ethic”, a leadership philosophy rooted in responsibility, protection, and resilience. Even at a young age, his intellectual capacity stood out, as he skipped multiple grades, signaling an early trajectory toward excellence.

His academic journey reflects persistence and growth. After studying General Science at O’Reilly Senior High School, he overcame setbacks to graduate with distinction from Ken Hammer Senior High School. He later earned a Diploma in Journalism, sharpening his communication skills and media presence. Today, as a Legal Scholar pursuing an LLB at Kaaf University College, Rauf continues to expand his intellectual arsenal. For him, legal education is not merely academic, it is strategic, equipping him to navigate complex regulatory environments and reinforce integrity across his business and public engagements.

At the helm of the X-Gold Investment & Holdings Group, Rauf oversees a diversified conglomerate operating across Ghana, Nigeria, and Uganda. His leadership spans multiple sectors, including finance, infrastructure, agriculture, hospitality, education, and digital innovation. One of the flagship companies under his leadership, VisaLink Africa Limited, has become a vital platform facilitating global mobility for African students, professionals, and investors. Built on his deep understanding of international travel systems, the company embodies his broader vision of connecting African talent to global opportunities.

His influence extends into finance through X-Gold Holdings & Investment Group PLC and X-Gold Microfinance Limited, where he drives capital growth and financial inclusion. In infrastructure and natural resources, he leads ventures such as RNT Construction Ltd and Black African Gold Mining Company Limited, focusing on sustainable development and responsible resource management. Through Abugri Farms Limited and Pizza In & Chicken Out Foods Limited, he contributes to food security and hospitality innovation. Meanwhile, his investments in education and media including Halal International Community School and X-Gold Media & Digital Solutions, demonstrate his commitment to shaping both knowledge and narratives across the continent.

Beyond corporate success, Rauf’s impact is deeply rooted in social development. His work with the Federation of African Youth Development (FOAYD) and the Ghana National Talent Awards (GNTA) has created platforms for young talents to access mentorship, exposure, and opportunity. Through these initiatives, he has built bridges between grassroots creativity and corporate support systems, empowering a new generation of African leaders and artists.

In 2024, he made a bold entry into Ghana’s political space as the youngest Independent Parliamentary Candidate in Ayawaso West Wuogon. This move underscored his belief that leadership must not only exist in boardrooms but also in governance. His prior experience as National Coordinator and Personal Assistant to Dr. Hassan Ayariga provided him with strategic insight into national politics, further strengthening his voice in public discourse. Through regular appearances on major media platforms, he continues to advocate for youth-driven economic reform and inclusive development.

On the personal front, Rauf’s life reflects unity and purpose. His marriage to Rukaya Abukari symbolizes a blend of cultural identities, reinforcing his belief in national cohesion. As a father, he remains grounded in the principle that one’s beginnings do not define their limits, but rather serve as the foundation for future achievements.
