Accra Metropolitan University (Accra Met), formerly known as Larweh University College, has officially unveiled its Social Media Committee in a strategic move to enhance its digital presence and rebrand the institution. The announcement was made during a meeting held at the university’s premises in Batsoona, Greater Accra Region. The transition from Larweh University College to Accra Metropolitan University marks a significant milestone in the institution’s journey. In December 2024, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo granted a Presidential Charter to 14 private university colleges, including Larweh University College, officially elevating them to the status of fully-fledged universities. This recognition allows Accra Met to independently award degrees, diplomas, and certificates, further solidifying its position in Ghana’s higher education landscape.

Accra Met offers a diverse range of undergraduate and graduate programs tailored to meet industry demands. Undergraduate programs include Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance and Accounting, Human Resource Management, and International Business Management. Graduate offerings encompass Master of Business Administration in various specializations, Master of Science in Development Economics, and a Doctor of Business Administration program. The university also provides pathway programs in collaboration with international institutions such as Durban University of Technology (DUT),
the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and the Open University of Tanzania.

Accra Metropolitan University is committed to blending traditional marketing with digital strategies to create comprehensive communication campaigns that resonate with a global audience. By embracing modern communication tools, Accra Met aims to attract a diverse student body and offer top-tier academic programs that reflect excellence in tertiary education. Prospective students from all backgrounds are encouraged to join the Accra Met community and be part of this transformative journey.
