Inter Milan Outlast Barcelona in 7-6 Aggregate Thriller to Reach Champions League Final.
In a night of pure drama and football brilliance, Inter Milan edged out Barcelona 4-3 after extra time at the San Siro, sealing a 7-6 aggregate win to book their place in the UEFA Champions League final.
Barcelona came into the second leg trailing 3-2 from the first encounter but showed immense character in Milan. Despite going 2-0 down in the first half, goals from Eric García and Dani Olmo brought them level, and a late strike from Raphinha in the 87th minute gave the visitors hope with a 3-2 lead on the night.
However, Inter Milan had other plans. Francesco Acerbi sent the home crowd into raptures with a stoppage-time equalizer, making it 3-3 and forcing extra time. The decisive blow came in the 99th minute when Davide Frattesi struck a clinical finish past Marc-André ter Stegen to make it 4-3, sending Inter to their second Champions League final in three years.
Despite their valiant comeback, Barcelona’s European campaign ends in heartbreak once again, while Inter now march on to the final, where they’ll face either Arsenal or Paris Saint-Germain on May 31 at the Allianz Arena in Munich.
