JELLYFISH is sea animal with a thick layer of jellylike material. Jellyfishes are classified in the coelenterates, that is the third lowest phylum of the animal kingdom.
Jellyfish are not true fishes ,because a fish is an animal with a backbone. A jellyfish has only two layers of cells the outer layer called the ectoderm and the inner one endoderm.
Jellyfishes have a thick layer of jelly which give s them the support and makes them float more easily.
There are two types of jellyfishes,the Medusa’s and the Ctenophores. A Medusa looks like an umbrella with a fringe of tentacles around the edge , and a mouth part hanging down.
The Ctenophores are are commonly called comb jellies and sea walnuts . They live in all parts of oceans , but they are mostly abundant in warm water. The Ctenophores are more transparent than medusas.
Can Jellyfish Eat Humans?
Don’t worry. A jellyfish will never eat you. However, a jellyfish sting can cause humans pain if human skin comes in contact with the jellyfish’s tentacles.
