Meet Jaymore, A Rising Multi-Genre Artist from Ghana

Published

on

Jaymore

Born Atamudzi Japhet and raised in Ghana’s culturally rich Volta Region, Jaymore is a fast-rising artist known for his multi-genre sound and deep-rooted passion for music. Growing up in a musically inclined household, Jaymore was the standout who took the family’s love for music a step further—channeling it into his own creative expression. He was particularly inspired by live performances and the global energy of music, which led him to realize early on that music was more than a hobby—it was his calling.

Jaymore considers himself a genre-fluid or multi-genre artist, crafting music that spans hip-hop, R&B, and afrobeats. This openness allows him to remain creative and spontaneous, letting the music guide him rather than being boxed into a single style. His ability to experiment and flow across genres has given his sound broad appeal and reflects his instinctive approach to music-making.

His recent releases, Alicia and Play Boi Gen, demonstrate the dual nature of his artistry. Alicia tells a fictional story of heartbreak and emotional disconnect between two former lovers. It’s a reflective, emotive track designed for a specific audience seeking depth and feeling. On the other hand, Play Boi Gen is an upbeat, party-centric song that captures the wild, carefree essence of youth and nightlife. Though differing in theme and energy, both tracks share a common thread: storytelling and imagination—core principles in Jaymore’s songwriting.

The creation of these songs was highly collaborative. Alicia was produced by Kelmah, a longtime friend of Jaymore, while Play Boi Gen was crafted from an online beat and brought to life in the studio with Sena Brown, who managed the recording, mixing, and mastering of both tracks.

Jaymore’s sound is shaped by a diverse mix of musical influences, including Dave Santan, Stormzy, Drake, Rema, Burna Boy, Stonebwoy, Sarkodie, and Shatta Wale. While these artists have left an imprint on his style and aspirations, Jaymore stays true to his unique vibe and draws primarily from his own experiences and emotions.

Although there’s no full album on the horizon just yet, Jaymore hints at several ongoing projects. He’s focused on creating music that resonates and restores meaning in an era where music often feels disposable. For him, music should evoke thought and emotion—it should move people. This mission of impact is at the heart of his evolving musical journey.

When asked to choose a color that best represents his music, Jaymore selects black. To him, black symbolizes strength, depth, and authenticity—qualities he strives to embody in every track. It also connects to his cultural roots and personal aesthetic, reinforcing his belief in being real and grounded.

A dream collaboration for Jaymore would be with Dave Santan, a UK rapper he admires for his lyrical depth and authenticity. He sees a partnership with Dave as potentially transformative for his career.

Outside music, Jaymore is known for his fun-loving personality. He enjoys gaming, fast cars, good food, and spreading joy through humor—traits that help him connect with fans beyond the stage and studio. His music is available on all major streaming platforms, and fans can follow his journey on Instagram (@_.the_wicked_artist), TikTok (Jaymore’s), and YouTube (Jaymoremusic).
