Hon. Alhaji Kobina Ghansah Pays Off Full Surgical Bills For Richard Mensah To Undergo Plastic Surgery
The member of parliament for the good people of Asikuma Odoben Brakwa Constituency, Hon. Alhaji Kobina Ghansah on Friday, 12th March, 2021 made full payment of GHC 27,700 to the Surgical Department at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital to aid Richard Mensah, a poor orphan from his constituency to undergo a successful surgery.
On 1st February, 2021, Sintim Media made a report about a poor orphan called Richard Mensah from Breman Asikuma who needed an urgent support to undergo a reconstructive surgery as a result of a deadly Cancrum Oris ailment which is causing his cheek to rot.
The little boy, Richard Mensah’s condition was discovered by Care For Me Africa, a non-governmental organization based in Breman Asikuma spearheaded by Madam Ivy Nyarkoah Taylor.
After the discovery of Richard’s condition, through ADOM TV and other media houses, Richard’s sad situation was aired on radio, TV and various social media platforms to raise fund to support his surgery.
Various Philanthropists, groups and private individuals donated cash to support the poor orphan’s surgery in order to save his life.
Fast forward on Friday, 12th March, 2021, Hon. Alhaji Kobina Ghansah upon hearing the sad story made full payment of Richard’s surgical bills to the National Reconstruction Plastic Surgery And Burns Center at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital.

The MP took to his official Facebook page to announce his kind gesture and donation made in helping save the poor boys live.
Below is what Hon. Alhaji Ghansah wrote on his Facebook page;
“Viewer discretion advised
Hope we all remember the sad story of this young boy whose sister and granny(in the pic) are both branch executives our party? The good news is that I have paid for all his surgical operation bills and ask the family to keep the donations after Adom FM’s Amoh’s documentary on his indisposition gone viral.
I pray Allah grant us more so we can do more”
An amount of GHC 27,7000 as issued by the Surgical Department of the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital has been paid by the Honourable Member of parliament which has made it possible for little Richard to undergo a successful surgery to reconstruct his rotten cheek.
