The outreach focused on preparing Junior High School students ahead of the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE). Through interactive sessions, the team engaged students on the importance of discipline, hard work and staying committed to their academic goals.

Students were encouraged to see higher education as an achievable path rather than a distant dream. The team also offered mentorship and practical guidance to help them remain focused and confident as they approach their examinations.

Addressing the students, Mr. Michael Arthur, the Program’s Manager for Serasa foundation, emphasized that higher education is not a distant dream but an achievable goal with dedication, discipline and the right support system. Students were encouraged to remain focused on their academic journey, believe in their potential and make informed decisions that will shape their future.

A key highlight of the visit was the introduction of the Second Annual Educational Awards Program. This initiative is designed to motivate Junior High School students to excel academically by recognizing and rewarding outstanding performance in the BECE.

“The awards aim to instill a spirit of healthy competition while celebrating hard work and resilience”. Amina Akuah Boahemaa, Protocol lead for Serasa Foundation stated.

Reflecting on the success of its maiden edition, the Foundation noted that twelve schools participated in the inaugural awards, with exceptional students receiving certificates, medals and cash prizes. The event not only recognized academic excellence but also served as a moment of pride and inspiration for the entire Agona Odoben community.
