Ghana’s Walking Artiste GlennSamm wins fashion influencer at Pulse Influencer Award 2022

Ghana’s prolific visual storyteller and walking artist, Samuel Glenn Semakor widely known in show business as GlennSamm has been crowned Fashion Influencer of the Year at the Pulse Influencer Awards 2022.

The Pulse Influencer Awards aimed at engaging the influencer communities, highlighting the most consistent and impactful creators, and ultimately helping to strengthen the growth of digital media across Africa.

This year’s eventful and full-packed edition dubbed “Afro Excellence: Celebrating Culture and Creativity” acknowledged all pulse markets in Kenya, Nigeria, Senegal, and Ghana were held in Accra.

GlennSamm, who is also an outstanding model beats renowned media personalities and influencers such as Elikem Kumordzie, Berla Mundi, Nana Akua Addo, Empress Jamila, Zynnel Zuh, Ekow, Mclean, Eny Gh, Hajia4real and Cookie Tee to be crowned the laureate of the Fashion Influencer of the Year Category.

In an interview with the media, the Fashion Influencer of the Year expressed his excitement over the new feet he has clocked and the fact that his work has been recognized.

“I was so honored when l got nominated. And now winning the Fashion Influencer of the Year is big. It was a dream come through. I am just glad that my craft has been recognized by notable media.”

According to GlennSamm, winning such a prestigious award meant a lot to his brand.

“This is a different side of fashion I choose to represent. But breaking through the fashion and art industry hasn’t been easy because of how weird it is. So to be recognized by such a big media platform, it’s a big win,” he said.

GlennSamm, who was also featured by Vogue Magazine and BBC Africa, believes that working hard, putting out more work, and encouraging people to understand his fashion as art is his profound desire.

He called for support and collaboration in order to put out more great work.

“I have been planning an art exhibition and with this big win, I think Pulse Gh should partner with me as I launch my Street Art Festival.”

The Star Model, who has organized art installations at events such as Chalewote street art festival, Detty Rave, and AFROCHELLA among others said fashion is art.

He stated that, in fashion, uniqueness stands out and one’s fashion sense must communicate and be understood even though it wouldn’t make enough sense to many.

He mentioned that art is timeless and urged stakeholders in the art industry to take a second look at the other coin of fashion as art by fast-tracking policies to harness it lucratively.

Candyman Lucas Mensah to Sponsor Central Music Awards’ New Artiste of the Year Category with GH¢5,000

Renowned Ghanaian media personality and Founder of the Central Music Awards (CMA), Mr. Candyman Lucas Mensah, has pledged GH¢5,000 in sponsorship for the New Artiste of the Year category at the 15th Central Music Awards.

Mr. Mensah made the announcement during the 15th CMA Seminar held on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at the Samrit Hotel in Cape Coast ahead of the 15th Anniversary Celebration of the prestigious Central Music Awards.

Speaking on the topic, “From an Idea to a Movement: The CMA Journey at 15,” Mr. Mensah reflected on the experiences that led to the establishment of the Central Music Awards, highlighting the challenges, achievements and lessons from the awards’ 15-year journey.

He also outlined his vision for the continued growth of the awards scheme, particularly its role in identifying, nurturing and promoting emerging musical talents from the Central Region to compete at higher levels.

Announcing the sponsorship, Mr. Mensah said his contribution was driven by his commitment to supporting emerging artistes and creating opportunities for young talents within the region.

The sponsorship will support the New Artiste of the Year category as part of activities marking the 15th anniversary of the Central Music Awards.

The seminar, held under the theme “Celebrating the Journey, Taking Stock, Building Tomorrow,”brought together musicians, artiste managers, media personalities, bloggers, content creators, event organisers and other key stakeholders in the creative industry from across the Central Region’s 22 districts.

The programme featured presentations by creative industry professionals and academics, including Dr. Margaret Delali Numekevor, Lecturer at the Department of Music and Dance, University of Cape Coast, and Nana Ekua Apeatsewah II, former Chairperson of the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA), Central Region.

The seminar was moderated by Mr. Bismark Botchwey, Deputy Communications Executive at Heritage Promotions.

The annual CMA seminar provides a platform for creatives to gain knowledge and practical insights into developing their craft, strengthening their brands, building professional networks and promoting their work to meet international standards.
