The Member of Parliament for the South Dayi constituency in the Volta Region, Rockson-Nelson Dafeamekpor has issued a strong caution to Electoral Commission (EC) officials at Tema Central, urging them to uphold the integrity of the electoral process.

In a post shared on his official X (formerly Twitter) account, the lawmaker alleged attempts spearheaded by one Mr Brobbey to alter the parliamentary results in Tema Central.

According to him, Ebi Bright, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate, had secured a victory in the constituency.

He wrote, “If you steal the mandate of the people of TC, we shall prosecute you mercilessly. We are aware of the criminal things you are presently engaged in.”

Results from the various constituencies are being announced following the counting and collation of votes at the various polling and collation centres across the country.

The exercise, which is being held at the various collation centres in the country is aimed at promoting transparency and fairness in the electioneering process.

Both the National Democratic Congress and New Patriotic Party have been holding separate press conferences urging their supporters to remain calm and allow the EC to do its work.

The NPP has admonished its supporters to conduct themselves properly while they monitor the collation and announcement of results.

The NDC, on the other hand, has ordered its supporters to remain vigilant and not celebrate as they follow the process.

The 2024 elections were contested by 13 presidential candidates and 807 parliamentary candidates.

Prophet Moses Bennisan Urges Ghanaians to Focus on Policies in Upcoming Elections

Published

Prophet Moses Bennisan

As Ghana prepares for the 2024 presidential elections, Prophet Moses Bennisan, the head pastor of Family Altar in East Legon, has joined the national conversation, calling on citizens to prioritize policies over personalities in their decision-making.

Speaking during his recent appearance on Joy Time in His Presence, Prophet Moses emphasized that the primary responsibility of governments is to create a prosperous environment for the well-being of their citizens. He noted that this can only be achieved through credible and actionable policies.

Prophet Moses, who recently launched his book, Ghana’s Economic Emergence, stressed the long-term impact of elections, describing them as a pivotal event with implications far beyond the polling day. “It’s very important for us to understand that the day of election is an event; the real work is the policy,” he said.
He urged voters to evaluate candidates based on their proposed policies rather than their charisma or public image. “It’s not the politics, and it’s not the personality. It is the policies. Because we can only hold people accountable based on the policies they presented to us,” he remarked.

Prophet Moses further warned that when policy-driven dialogue is absent during elections, citizens lose a critical tool for accountability. “If we take the dialogue and the discourse away from the policy, after four years, when nothing has been achieved, we have nothing to hold the people accountable to,” he cautioned.

As Ghanaians head to the polls, Prophet Moses Bennisan’s insights serve as a timely reminder of the importance of policy-focused voting. His message stresses the role of citizens in ensuring that elected leaders are chosen based on their ability to implement transformative and sustainable initiatives for national development.
