Felix Kwakye-Ofosu, former Deputy Information Minister, has celebrated his decisive victory in the 2024 parliamentary elections for the Abura Asebu Kwamankese constituency.

His main opponent, Eric Etodur Nyanteh of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), managed 19,598 votes, representing 38.81 percent. This marks a significant margin of victory for the former Deputy Minister.

This massive victory marks a comeback for Ofosu-Kwakye, who previously contested in 2020 but lost to the then-incumbent NPP MP, Elvis Morris Donkor.

Celebrating his triumph, Kwakye Ofosu took to his official X (Twitter) handle, posting a victorious photo with the caption, “What difference four years make. From losing by 176 votes in 2020, I have now won by a difference of 11,100.”

Ideas, Not Personal Worth; Portia Akua Pinamang Welcomes the President’s Call for a New Political Mindset

Published

on

Miss Portia Nana Akua Pinamang has expressed strong support and genuine excitement about President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s recent statement: “Ideas will transform Ghana, not personal worth.” For her, those words were not just inspiring, they were surprising in the most refreshing way, considering the personality they came from and the position he holds.

According to Miss Portia, Ghana’s political landscape has for decades been shaped more by personalities than by policies. Politics, she noted, has too often become an extension of the parties we belong to rather than the ideas and tangible solutions leaders bring to the table. Hearing a message that shifts the focus to innovation, competence, and practical contributions felt like a breath of fresh air.

She stressed, however, that such a powerful statement must not remain a campaign message or a beautifully crafted line delivered on stage. Once given the mandate, she believes it must be backed by action, consistency, and results.

Miss Portia further explained that as a nation over 60 years into independence, Ghana should be performing far better economically and financially. For her, the time for slogans and rhetoric is long past. What matters now is effective ideology, ideas that actually yield progress, development, and stability.

Her hope is clear: that President Bawumia will not only be a messenger of transformation but the driver of it. She expects him to match his words with delivery, ensuring that the promising vision he expressed becomes the reality Ghana has been waiting for.

In her view, this moment presents an opportunity to reshape the country’s political culture, one where ideas take center stage and leadership is measured by impact, not personality.
