On Wednesday, 7th May 2025, the UPSA Auditorium was alive with energy and cultural pride as African Dance Rhythm captivated the audience with a dynamic performance during the launch of the “Empowering Communities for Climate Action” project. The event, spearheaded by Queen Titiaka, Winner of Ghana’s Most Beautiful 2024, marked a significant step in community driven climate advocacy but it was the traditional artistry of African Dance Rhythm that truly set the tone.

As dignitaries, environmental advocates, and members of the public gathered to witness the unveiling of the EcoGreen Oases Legacy, the renowned dance troupe brought the rich heritage of Ghanaian dance and music to center stage. Their vibrant choreography and soulful singing drew cheers from the crowd, blending cultural tradition with a message of resilience and unity.

Clad in colorful, authentic regalia, the performers showcased a variety of traditional styles, each telling a unique story and reinforcing the importance of community in the face of climate change. Their powerful drumming rhythms and elegant movements did more than entertain they inspired, reminding everyone present of the strength found in cultural roots.

While the focus of the event was Queen Titiaka’s visionary environmental project, it was African Dance Rhythm’s unforgettable performance that underscored the role of the arts in mobilizing collective action and celebrating identity. The group’s contribution added depth and spirit to an already historic day.

Ghanaian artiste Michael K. Okyere is set to return with a new single, Kyere Me Kwan, scheduled for release on 3 October, 2026.

The song, which translates as “Show me your way”, is a heartfelt reflection on faith, perseverance and the search for direction during difficult moments.

According to Michael K. Okyere, the inspiration for the song came from reflecting on the circumstances surrounding the children of the late Dr Kwadwo Safo Kantanka and how they are navigating life following his passing.

He said the situation prompted him to think about his own struggles and the hardships people encounter, ultimately leading him to the message at the centre of the song, when life becomes uncertain, it is God who can show the way.

Kyere Me Kwan is expected to resonate with listeners who have experienced moments of difficulty, family challenges or uncertainty and found strength through faith.
