Accra Metropolitan University Engages Stakeholders Ahead of Upcoming Graduation Ceremony

In a proactive move to ensure a seamless and memorable graduation and conferral ceremony, the leadership of Accra Metropolitan University (Accra Met) held a high-level meeting with representatives from the Ghana Police Service and Telecel Ghana. The strategic engagement, which took place at the university premises, was aimed at reviewing the event’s logistics and refining coordination among key partners ahead of the anticipated occasion.

During the meeting, the Accra Met team provided a detailed walk-through of the program structure, highlighting the sequence of activities, roles of different stakeholders, and specific responsibilities assigned to each partner. This collaborative approach ensured that all parties were fully briefed and aligned in their duties to guarantee a smooth execution of the ceremony.

Following the briefing, participants were given a guided tour of the ceremony venue and the surrounding university facilities. The tour served as an opportunity for stakeholders to familiarize themselves with the layout and flow of movement, enhancing planning around security, connectivity, and general event support.

Further discussions were held on-site to address finer aspects of the event, including crowd control, communications, and the aesthetic presentation of the venue. The collaborative spirit displayed during these discussions underscored the shared commitment of all involved to deliver a well-organized, safe, and beautiful celebration for graduates and guests.

As part of the upcoming celebration, the Accra Metropolitan University will confer distinguished honorary degrees at a special convocation ceremony scheduled for Saturday, 19th July 2025, at the Accra Metropolitan University Campus, Addogono–Nungua, at 9:00 a.m. The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mr. Christian Tetteh Yohuno, will be awarded an Honorary Doctor of Laws (L.L.D), Honoris Causa, in recognition of his outstanding service to the nation and commitment to public safety. Additionally, Ing. Patricia Obo-Nai, Chief Executive Officer of Telecel Ghana, will receive the Doctor of Science (DSc), Honoris Causa for her exceptional leadership in the telecommunications industry and contribution to technological advancement in Ghana.
