10 year old N’Adom of DPS International School wins 2022 Ghana National Spelling Bee Competition, set to represent Ghana at the National Spelling Bee in the United States

N’Adom Aboagyewaa Darko-Asare, a 10 year old 5th grader at DPS International School has emerged as champion of the 2022 Ghana National Spelling Bee Competition.

N’Adom will be representing Ghana at the 2022 Scripps National Spelling Bee in the United States.

During the contest, Aboagyewaa exhibited sheer brilliance and calm determination to emerge champion.

At the end of the hot competition, Nii Odartey Elorm Manyo-Plange from The Roman Ridge School Accra emerged as First runner-up.

The second runner-up went to Aarna Bhaveshkumar Taylor of DPS International School.

The grande finale of the 2022 Ghana’s National Spelling Bee was graced by Ghana’s First Lady, Her Excellency Rebecca Akufo-Addo,  American Ambassador, Stephanie S. Sullivan and other dignitaries.

The 2022 National Spelling Bee Competition was organized by Young Educators Foundation with support from committed facilitators, teachers, guardians and sponsors.

We at Sintim Media wish  N’Adom the best at the Scripps National Spelling Bee in the United States, as Ghana’s representative and pray she brings the cup home to Ghana and the African Continent.

Odoben SHS Places 2nd In 2022 National Public Speaking Competition

The Odoben Senior High School better known as ODOSCO on Sunday, November 13, 2022 made the good people of Asikuma Odoben Brakwa and Central Region proud for placing 2nd in the 2022 edition of the National Public Speaking Competition.

The grand finale of the 2022 edition of the National Public Speaking competition was held at the Accra International Conference Centre on Sunday, November 13 ,2022.

The Educational Public Speaking Contest which is organized annually under the auspices of the Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Alban Bagbin in collaboration with the cultural unit of the Ghana Education Service saw 6 schools from 5 zones who qualified to the final stage of the competition.

Odoben SHS qualified to the final stage of the competition after beating Mfantsipim School, Holy Child School, Ghana National College , Swedru SHS and Nyakrom SHTS during the Semifinals contest.

For this year’s edition of the National Public Speaking Competition, the orators presented on the theme: “GREEN RECOVERY FROM COVID-19: GHANA’s PERSPECTIVE”

Odoben Senior High School was  represented by Elizabeth Wilson, Esther Joy Oppong and Priscilla Yenu who delivered excellent presentations with great convincing points making them most promising orators among several  students from other schools consistently during the period of the contest.

Contestants for Odoben SHS were Elizabeth Wilson, Esther Joy Oppong and Priscilla Yenu.

Elizabeth Wilson from Odoben Senior High School exhibited professionalism, excellent display of eloquence with her presentation at the grand finale becoming the 1st runners up and Second Best Orator for the 2022 National Public Speaking Competition.

Elizabeth Wilson’s outstanding performance secured of 75% of the total scores for Odoben Senior High School which placed the School in the 2nd Position of the contest having beaten with just a point by Yaa Asantewaa Girls SHS  with 76% emerging as champions of the 2022 edition.

Aburi Girls’ Senior High School also  placed 3rd with 74.3% while the  4th , 5th and 6th positions were taken by Tamale Senior High School with 73.7% ,  Adisadel College with 72%  and Achimota Schoolwith 68% respectively.

Yaa Asantewaa Girls SHS Won The 2022 National Public Speaking Competition

Winners of the 2022 edition of the National Public Speaking Competition, Yaa Asantewaa Girls’ Senior High School won a cash prize of GHC 10,000 in addition to products from sponsors of the competition.

Odoben SHS placed 2nd, took home a cash prize of GHC 8,000

Odoben Senior High School took home a cash prize of GHC 8,000 in addition to products from sponsors of the competition from placing 2nd.

The contestants from Odoben SHS were trained by Mr. Abel Quaye, an English Language and Literature Tutor of the school.

The Member of Parliament for Asikuma Odoben Brakwa Constituency, Hon. Alhaji Kobina Ghansah graced the occasion to support the contestants from Odoben SHS where he motivated them to achieve such a resounding success.

Speaking to students and audience at the auditorium, Mrs Kate Addo , a representative of the Speaker of Parliament reiterated that it is paramount for Ghanaians to maintain a good environment to ensure keeping our country safe.

NPSC 2022

The National Public Speaking Competition (NPSC) is an annual Public Speaking Contest which runs across Senior High Schools in Ghana .

It is designed to discover, recognize and foster the dynamism, creativity and initiative of the Ghanaian youth in promoting a culture of patriotism and national development;

The National Public Speaking Competition is aimed at building a genre of speakers who will use public speaking to influence society positively.

The competition offers students the acknowledgement and encouragement towards a successful career in public relations, compèring, film and advocacy.
