No Ghana Card, No Banking Transactions – Bank of Ghana Declears
The Ghana Association of Bankers (GAB) has expressed their readiness to comply with Bank of Ghana (BoG) over the directive that mandate all banking to use only Ghana Card in all banking transactions taking effect on July 1st, 2022.
In line with the notice, Section 30 of the anti-money Laundering act, 2020 (Act 1044) and regulation 12 of the Anti-money Laundering Regulations, 2011 (L.I.1987), all financial institution shall take steps to update customer records with Ghana Card.
The directive issued by Ms Sandra Thompson, Bank of Ghana secretary yesterday said the move was to ensure the safety of the financial system.
