The Afrochella Festival is slated for December 28 and 29 and will take place at El Wak Stadium in Accra, Ghana.

The two-day music festival also features Kidi, Medikal, Ayra Starr, DJ Juls, and DJ Loft in addition to over 50 vendors, including 15 businesses specialising in fashion, beauty, and the arts.

The word “AfroFuturism,” which was coined to honour the both past and present of the African diaspora and to offer a positive vision on the future of the next generation, serves as the theme for this year’s festival.

Abdul Karim Abdullah, CEO & Co-Founder of Afrochella said,“As we embark on another year of celebrating African culture, Afrochella will bring “Afrofuturism” to life through our core elements of music, art, fashion and food. We will explore the endless possibilities of what “Afrofuturism” could look like in 2022 and beyond.”

This year’s festival will have 35 food vendors serving dishes from all around the continent and introduce guests to “Afrocanteen,” an exclusive dining experience unlike any other.

The Afrochella Expo at Afrochella House will start on December 18 and last until December 31 before the festival’s musical portion. Wellness seminars, films, and panel discussions on topics including culture, technology, health, sustainability, music, and art will all be a part of this totally immersive experience. Events like the Rising Star Challenge, Fashion Night Out, The New Year’s Celebration x PVO, and many others are open to creatives from all over the world.

African Dance Rhythms Delivers Show-Stopping Performance at Sebastien Ajavon’s Birthday Celebration

Published

on

African Dance Rhythms delivered a breathtaking cultural showcase at the grand birthday celebration of Sebastien Ajavon, businessman and former presidential candidate of Benin. The celebration, held at the luxurious De Icon Event Center, turned into an unforgettable night of rhythm, dance, and shared joy.

The event brought together family, friends, and well-wishers to honor Ajavon in grand style, but it was African Dance Rhythms who stole the spotlight. From the very first drumbeat, the troupe lit up the evening with explosive energy, blending traditional African movements with modern choreography that had the entire room buzzing.
What set the performance apart was the way the group engaged the audience.

Guests were invited to join them on stage, and soon the dance floor was alive with laughter, cheers, and spontaneous moves as the line between performer and spectator disappeared. It wasn’t just a show—it was a shared cultural moment.
Dressed in vibrant costumes and backed by thunderous live drumming, the dancers told powerful stories through movement—stories of heritage, unity, and celebration. Every routine was met with loud applause, whistles, and ovations, as guests captured the lively scenes on their phones.

For African Dance Rhythms, the performance was more than entertainment; it was a celebration of African identity expressed through art. At Ajavon’s birthday, they turned a private milestone into a cultural festival, proving once again why they are celebrated as one of the most dynamic dance troupes on the continent.

Sebastien Ajavon’s birthday was a night of elegance and festivity, but thanks to African Dance Rhythms, it became something even greater a spectacular cultural experience that will be remembered long after the final drumbeat.
