AFRIMASS NETWORK EARNS UNESCO PRAISE FOR SUCCESSFUL AFRIKA RADIO BUSINESS MIXER 2026

The AfriMass Network has received commendation from the Ghana Commission for UNESCO following the successful organization of the Afrika Radio Business Mixer 2026, held to mark World Radio Day 2026.
In an official communication to the organizers, the Commission, on behalf of its Secretary-General, Prof. Osman Tahidu Damba, praised the event for its professionalism and alignment with UNESCO’s global theme, “Radio and Artificial Intelligence – AI is a Tool, Not a Voice.”

The message, conveyed by Joan Agyekum Nsowah, , programme Officer (Communication and information) at Ghana Commission for UNESCO highlighted the depth of discussions and quality of participation, noting that the event demonstrated a strong commitment to innovation, ethical broadcasting, and sustainable media development.

The Afrika Radio Business Mixer is premier thought leadership and networking platform for Ghana’s radio and media industry. The 2026 edition brought together a wide range of stakeholders, including radio station owners and managers, broadcasters, content creators, students, advertising and media sales professionals, as well as technology and AI experts.
Participants also included policymakers and development partners, creating a dynamic space for dialogue on the future of radio in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.

The event provided a unique platform to explore the intersection of radio broadcasting, artificial intelligence, audience engagement, and revenue innovation, with practical insights on how the industry can remain competitive and relevant.

The endorsement from the Ghana Commission for UNESCO underscores the growing importance of the initiative within the broader context of media development, freedom of expression, and knowledge societies. The Commission further expressed appreciation for the collaboration and indicated its readiness to continue working with AfriMass Network on forward-looking media initiatives.

Responding to the commendation, Founder of AfriMass Network, Raymond Smith, described the recognition as both encouraging and affirming.
“On behalf of the AfriMass Network team and the entire organizing committee, I sincerely appreciate the commendation from the Secretary-General and the Ghana Commission for UNESCO. Your support and partnership were instrumental in the successful delivery of the Afrika Radio Business Mixer in commemoration of World Radio Day 2026,” he said.

Brother Ishmael Takes Home Male Vocalist of the Year Award at Ghana Music Awards USA

Ghanaian gospel musician based in the United States, Brother Ishmael, known in private life as Ishmael Mintah, has been crowned Male Vocalist of the Year at the just-ended Ghana Music Awards USA held in New Jersey.

Brother Ishmael emerged winner in the Male Vocalist of the Year – USA category, beating competition from Rev. Graceman, Daniel Nii Nertey, James K. Owusu, HTsongz, Muzic Mensah and Saucelord.

The award further recognises Brother Ishmael’s contribution to gospel music, with his work combining worship, evangelism and storytelling.

His winning song, “Nyame Beye,” is a prophetic declaration centred on faith, hope and confidence in God’s promises. The song has also gained attention among gospel music audiences and remains available on major digital streaming platforms.

Beyond music, Brother Ishmael recently received his ordination as a pastor at Christ The King Prophetic Ministry in Columbus, Ohio, under the leadership of Senior Pastor Prophet Paul Gyamfi.
