African Dance Rhythms to perform at this year’s National Academy of Students’ Achievement Awards Ghana (NASAAG) on April 11

On April 11, 2025, the British Council in Ghana will host the 5th anniversary of the highly anticipated National Academy of Students’ Achievement Awards (NASAAG).

This prestigious event, which celebrates the academic achievements of students, will also serve as a platform to showcase the rich cultural heritage of Ghana and Africa.

A key highlight of the evening will be the dynamic performance by the cultural group African Dance Rhythms, a group that has earned a reputation for bringing African traditions to life through the power of dance and rhythm.

African Dance Rhythms is a cultural movement that seeks to preserve, promote, and celebrate African dance forms across generations. The group focuses on highlighting the diverse dance styles from different regions of Africa, each with its own rhythm, movement, and cultural significance.
From the energetic drum beats of Ghana to the elegant dance steps of the Maasai in Kenya, African Dance Rhythms embraces the wide array of African dance traditions, using performance as a medium to educate, entertain, and engage audiences.

At the National Academy of Students’ Achievement Awards, African Dance Rhythms will take center stage to showcase the vibrant and diverse traditions that define African culture. Through their performance, the group will demonstrate the deep connections between dance, music, and storytelling that are core to many African communities.

Stay Away From Hard Drugs – Paramount Chief of the Sunyani Advices Young Musicians

A group of young musicians from Sunyani, known as the Pure Heart Movement(PHM),led by by Starboy Okra Tom, paid a courtesy visit to the Paramount Chief of the Sunyani Traditional Area Odeefour Ogyeamansan Boahen Korkor II to discuss their upcoming community initiatives and seek his blessings.

During the meeting, the group expressed their commitment to supporting odeefour Ogyeamansan Boahen Korkor II development agenda by participating in communal labor. They announced plans to organize a cleanup exercise,repaint some of the pavements in the principal streets,and decorate flower beds along the stretch from Sunyani Senior High School (SUSEC) to the University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR).Additionally, they revealed that they had procured dustbins to be placed at strategic locations to help maintain cleanliness in the township.

The Paramount Chief of Sunyani Traditional Area odeefour Ogyeamansan Boahen Korkor II , was grateful for their initiative, commended the group for their dedication to community development.

He advised them to stay away from hard drugs, emphasizing that substance abuse could ruin their musical talents.Odeefour Ogyeamansan Boahen Korkor II also encouraged them to take education seriously, learn some soft skills, noting that knowledge is essential even in the music industry. He assured them of his continuous support, stating that his doors are always open to them.

Pure Heart Movement sought the odeefour Ogyeamansan Boahen Korkor II permission to use his image to promote their upcoming musical concert,scheduled for May 31, 2025, in Sunyani.

Odeefour Ogyeamansan Boahen Korkor II graciously granted their request, further endorsing their effort, on condition that they will respect his brand.
