A British Black Anglican Gay Priest to host a 3 day prayer for the safety and justice of LGBTIQ Ghanaians

As many Christian churches and various religious denominations are fighting against the legalization of LGBT Rights in Ghana, a popular UK based British Black Anglican Gay Priest known as Rev. Jide Macaulay has openly disclosed his eagerness to host a 3 day prayer for the safety and well-being of gays living in Ghana.

The founder and CEO of House of Rainbow who double as a Queer Theologian and HIV+ Activist revealed in a tweet that, his church is going to pray for the safety and well-being of LGBTIQ Ghanaians, they will also pray to end homophobia and religious abuse in Ghana and also call for love, kindness and to do Justiice.

The gay priest who recently celebrated his one year anniversary of priesthood ordination in the Church of England quoted Micah 6:8 as his  Biblical scripture for their 3 night prayer.

The known Gay Priest and LGBTIQ rights advocate made this revelations on Twitter when he replied a tweet by a popular gay Twitter activist account known as @RightifyGhana.

In the tweet, @RighifyGhana added their voice to an opinion shared by Shatta Wale on the LGBT debate during a live Twitter Space discussion with Twitter influencer @KalyJay.

During KalyJay’s Twitter Space session with the Reggae/Dancehall Artiste Shatta Wale, the Gringo hitmaker disclosed that, he doesn’t discriminate among human beings because he is having so many friends who are gays and lesbians of which many of his fans are also part of the LGBT Community therefore they should be allowed to enjoy their life.

Shatta Wale in a voice note further said that if the government is finding it difficult to make decision on the LGBT issue then thats their problem but for him Shatta Wale, he loves all his fans who are gays and lesbians so they should focus on enjoying good music as they enjoy their life.

Quickly, the popular gay Twitter account @RightifyGhana retweeted the voice note of Shatta and this what they said;

Says he doesn’t discriminate, has fans who are gay, lesbian and reveals he was recently styled by a gay person. 

In a reply to @RightifyGhana’s tweet, The Gay Anglican priest, Rev. Jide Macaulay added his voice by announcing the plans his church has for the LGBTIQ community in Ghana.

In his tweet reply, he said;

This is so important. @HouseOfRainbow will be holding a 3 day prayer for the safety and justice for LGBTIQ Ghanaians. See poster for details

Precious’s Deep Oil Burns Surgeries Fund Raiser

This 1year 3 Months old girl suffered severe deep oil burns 3 months ago when she was un attended to in the kitchen and came in contact with hot oil. Despite their best efforts- her family cannot afford the skin graft surgeries needed to ensure her heal Without which, Precious will lose her life to infections.

She had been hospitalised for 3 months recieiving only basic care when her plight was made known to the public by Mr Felix Dongbetigr known as Ferty Felix, a blogger and a teacher who works tirelessly to support his community.

Mr Felix have paid for the first surgery, and it is estimated a further $5000 USD will be needed for ongoing procedures and therapy. In Ghana, there not more than 2 burns unit- and it is cross-country. A surgeon was brought down to perform the surgery- 8 hours- and will return to continue providing treatment.

The great news is that Precious is adapting well and handled the surgery! The road ahead is long though, and any funds to go towards her care will be paid via Mr Felix to the to the hospital – who visits her and brings us frequent updates on her progress.
