Cabeza Network Launches Nationwide 10K Plant Initiative, Starting in Ada East

Cabeza Network has officially launched its 10K Plant Initiative, a bold nationwide tree planting campaign aimed at promoting environmental sustainability, restoring green spaces, and raising climate change awareness across Ghana.

The initiative began in Ada East, where traditional rulers, including sub-chiefs, queen mothers, and other community leaders, gathered to support the launch. Their presence underscored the importance of unity in addressing environmental challenges.

“We are excited to begin this journey in Ada East,” said a representative from Cabeza Network. “Our goal is to plant 10,000 trees across the country, not just to beautify our environment, but to actively combat climate change, reduce erosion, and improve air quality for generations to come.”
The 10K Plant Initiative is more than a symbolic gesture; it’s a practical step toward a healthier future. Trees play a vital role in regulating climate, preserving biodiversity, and supporting water cycles. By engaging communities in this effort, Cabeza Network is also fostering a culture of environmental stewardship.
Following Ada East, the project will expand to other regions including the Central, Ashanti, and Eastern Regions, ensuring wide national impact. The organization is working in close collaboration with local authorities, schools, and traditional councils to ensure the sustainability of the planted trees.

Cabeza Network’s approach emphasizes grassroots participation, long-term planning, and education, making it one of the most comprehensive community-driven green initiatives in the country this year.

In addition to its environmental efforts, Cabeza Network is also hosting the CN Queen Development, a unique pageant show that challenges young women to identify pressing problems in their communities and propose technology-driven solutions. The initiative empowers participants to become problem-solvers and change agents. The winner of the competition will receive a cash prize of 10,000 Ghana cedis.

“We Need to Empower Young Boys to Complement Empowered Girls” — Blogger Nathaniel Quaye Speaks

Published

on

Blogger Nathaniel Quaye has called for urgent and intentional efforts to empower young boys, stressing that their development is just as critical to building a balanced and safe society. Speaking on AIT TV during a newspaper review segment with Nana Ama Agyiri, he highlighted the growing need to raise responsible and emotionally aware boys who can grow into respectful and supportive men.

His comments were prompted by a disturbing newspaper report about a four-year-old girl who was assaulted and tragically lost her life, an incident that has reignited national conversations around values, upbringing, and societal responsibility. Nathaniel Quaye noted that while significant strides have been made in empowering girls, there must also be a deliberate focus on shaping boys to understand accountability, respect, and empathy from an early age.

Referencing the advocacy of Kobby Kyei and his “Boys Lives Matter Too” campaign, Nathaniel Quaye emphasized that empowering boys should not be seen as competing with efforts to uplift girls. Rather, he explained, it is about creating a necessary balance. According to him, when boys are raised right, they grow into men who can complement empowered women, contributing to healthier relationships, safer communities, and a more progressive society.
