Accra Indie Filmfest Partners with Mediathirsty Productions Based in the UK for AiF FilmArt 2022

The Accra Indie Filmfest has partnered with Mediathirsty Productions based in the UK for this year’s edition of AiF FilmArt and supported by the British Council. The Accra Indie Filmfest and Mediathirsty Productions partnership will organize a workshop to give 30 underrepresented emerging screenwriters in the UK the opportunity to collaborate with young filmmaking teams in Ghana. This program is designed to foster cultural and experiential exchanges between Ghana and the UK and birth new narratives.

Screenwriting workshop will be held in the UK to be facilitated by Mediathirsty Productions whiles the Filmmaking Workshop will be held in Ghana and facilitated by Accra Indie Filmfest (AiF). At the end of the program, two short films will be produced and premiered as part of Accra Indie Filmfest 2022 to a live audience. These films would also be submitted to other international film festivals to increase their visibility beyond Accra Indie Filmfest.

Screenwriting workshop participation opens on 24th January, 2022 to young and emerging screenwriters based in the UK.

Filmmaking workshop participation opens in March to young and emerging filmmakers based in Ghana occupying production roles including; directing, producing, editing, cinematography and sound design.

AiF FilmArt is a flagship film incubation program as part of the annual Accra Indie Filmfest (AiF) for young and emerging filmmakers already in the business of filmmaking who need supported opportunities to develop their craft.

Accra Indie Filmfest (AiF) is an international short film festival in Ghana, in dedication of creating more value for emerging filmmakers across the world with Africa in focus.

This year marks the 4th edition of the festival slated for 2nd to 6th August 2022 and it promises to be the amplified versions of the previous editions with several other programs to be unleashed as part of the festival.

Akesse Moïse Sanza Urges Ghanaian Talents to Embrace Professional Management and PR Expertise.

Renowned Ghanaian travel blogger, Akesse Moïse Sanza, has advised Ghanaian talents to seek professional management and PR guidance.

Referencing the recent incident involving Kumawood actor Lilwin, Sanza took to his official Facebook page to share his thoughts on the matter.

Sanza expressed sympathy for Lilwin, whose new movie “A Country Called Ghana” has been marred by a motor accident and related issues.

He wrote, “It’s sad to see Lilwin put in so much work only for everything to be overshadowed by this incident. I pray he comes out of this difficult time.”

Sanza emphasized the importance of professional management and PR expertise for Ghanaian talents, stating, “Allow yourself to be managed and engage professionals when it comes to PR matters.”

On his official Facebook page, Akesse wrote;

It’s really sad to see Lil Win put a lot of work into this project only for everything to be marred by a motor accident and its related issues.

If you put yourself in his shoes, you would understand that he might be going through a lot right now. This is one of those situations where you wish for peace even if you will lose everything else.

Talents in Ghana should allow themselves to be managed and engage professionals when it comes to PR matters.

I pray he comes out of this.
